La Tebaida, Quindio, El Eden Tropical del Departamento. 

The Tebaida is a Colombian municipality belonging to the department of Quindio. Its economy, as in all the surrounding regions, was based mainly on the cultivation of coffee. The Community diversified agriculture and directed it later to other products such as tobacco, fruits, bananas and citrus fruit, due to the instability of coffee prices that was presented at any time.

The average temperature is 23°C to make it warmer in the municipality of the department. The town is situated at a height of 1190 meters above sea level. The town has a total area of 89 Km2. 

When was it founded?

Founded this city the 14 of August of 1916 by guaqueros partakers of the Antioquian Colonization of the Quindío during the last phase of the Colonization Paisa.

Elevated to the status of district of Armenia in 1917 and was erected as a municipality in the month of July 1954.

¿Where is it located?

The Tebaida is bordered to the north by the Armenian capital and with the municipality of Montenegro, on the south by the municipality of Calarcá and the department of Valle del Cauca, on the east by the municipality of Armenia and calarcá and to the west with the department of Valle del Cauca.

It is located 17 kilometers from the capital of the Department by an excellent paved road.
